About This Piece:
“…of ghostly matters.”
I have been working on two projects back and forth over the many, many months. One is a collection of faerie tales and illustrations and the other is a compilation of spooky and scary stories and illustrations. More specifically, things that are...”Of Ghostly Matters!”

"Bhoot"
Ghosts, spooks and scary stories are very popular all over the world. In India a ghost is known as a “Bhoot”.
Just behind the low white-washed mortar and plaster wall the untended garden and yard was wild and overgrown almost hiding the crumbling old building and its large empty windows that stared onto the narrow street like the empty eyes of a heavy-browed skull.
The haunting effect was not lost on Padma as she passed by everyday on her way home from school. The young academian busied her frightened little mind with thoughts of boys, algebra homework, a popular song or two and of course, more boys so she that she would not be tempted to look at those dark windows and find that something was looking back.
